Co. in the 1950s and 1960s. He was on the board of Reed College and many local associations, and was instrumental in the development of the Cascade Head area near Neskowin, Oregon.

Harold Hirsch, a native of Portland, Oregon, graduated from Dartmouth College in 1929. He served as president of Portland-based White Stag Manufacturing Company from the 1930s to 1972, implementing production and national distribution of innovative outdoor and sport clothing. He was active in numerous civic organizations, including the Japanese Garden Society and Nature Conservancy. He was a Reed College trustee (1956-1990) and served as president of the Port of Portland.
